Reviews of our tours
It was a rainy cold day when we headed to Tallinn from Helsinki. Even the ferry crossing was dark & a bit on the rough side.
What a change when we were greeted at the Tallinn terminal by our guide Alexander.
A bright & bubbly contrast to the weather outside & boy did he know his stuff.
From the get go he was pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable & absolutely loved his job & his country.
He had a sense of humor too which is always a bonus.
We had a running commentary as we drove through & around town. Alexander not only pointed out the highlights outside the car window but shared some of the complex & at times quirky history of Tallinn & Estonia.
We stopped & walked around parks, palaces & outdoor ampitheatres before even heading to the old town, all the time being educated & entertained by Alexander & our driver.
I couldn’t recommend this day trip enough. Sure it was a long, LONG day but it was so worth it. Its has put Estonia on our Go To list for future holidays.
Many thanks to Triin, Alexander, our driver whose name I cant remember & the team at Nordic. We had an absolute ball.
PS, loved the coffee, sandwich & apple pie break. It was an unexpected inclusion & that apple pie was to die for!!
We are a family of 9 (age range 75 to 9 years old) and were on a Baltic cruise and spent the day with Eva-Maria in Tallinn on a private tour. She was an awesome guide. Her enthusiasm for her city is infectious. She turned what we thought to be a throw-away port of call to one of the funner stops on our cruise. She was easy to work with and highly responsive prior to docking in Tallinn so arranging the excursion was a breeze….don’t let the cruise line lock you into their terrible excursions with WAY too many people on the excursion! Get personalized service from companies like Eva-Maria’s!
She arranged a very nice bus for all of us so it was super comfortable. We have a child in a fold up wheelchair and she accommodated us perfectly. Mobility is a slight challenge in the old town (as in a lot of old European cities with a lot of cobblestone streets) but it was quite manageable for us.
We spent the day touring the old town, both upper and lower and then went to the Viking Village. This tour struck a good balance between the adults and the kids. The older folks appreciated the history and architecture of the old city and the kids had fun at the Viking Village, throwing axes and launching the catapult. The food served at the Viking Village was actually really good and the atmosphere of an old style Viking lodge was really fun.
We liked Eva-Maria so much, we decided to use her company to arrange excursions in Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen and they were all excellent (I will add reviews in those cities).
I would highly recommend this company to arrange your excursions!
Thank you for the three wonderful tours that you arranged for our groups in Tallinn, Stockholm and Helsinki!
My wife and I have mobility issues, so I contacted Estonian Experience told them of our issues and could they help.
We booked 4 tours with them in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Tallinn.
We were met on time at every port, the drivers and the guides were an absolute pleasure to spend time with. The guides are all fully accredited and enjoy sharing their love of their country with you.
I can highly recommend the company.
Estonian Experience provided my extended family of 18 a very memorable experience as we visited Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallin, Riga, and Copenhagen. The guides were all very professional and knowledgeable, and their love and passion for their homeland and culture was evident in the way they introduced us to their culture. They were all prompt or early (always awaiting us, never us awaiting them), and very flexible in accommodating our group’s desires and needs. Booking with Estonian Experience for the multicity tour took out a lot of stress of coordinating with what would have been 5 different tour companies. Eva-Maria and her team were very pleasant and easy to work with, not to mention accommodating, and Eva-Maria herself attended a couple of our tours that had itineraries that were new to the company.Estonian Experience is highly recommended.
