Oslo´s surroundings call for discovering the stunning mesh of metropolitan city atmosphere set in lovely unspoiled nature on a tour covering the Norwegian heritage from skiing to arts and more. Our perfect day of calling on Oslo starts with a delightful walking tour of the historic town center.
During the introductory walking tour we will see the medieval Akershus Castle & Fortress and the city´ s modern pearl- National Opera & Ballet building. National Theater, the Parliament building and University ensemble are some of the highlights before arriving to the majestic Royal Palace on top of a rise on Karl Johans Gate, one of the most wonderful pedestrian streets in Europe. We will also reserve some time to take a chance to enjoy a coffee break or relish in the atmosphere of this Nordic city for a spot of shopping
Shortly after, we will arrive to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, towering impressively over the area. This is the ultimate location for admiring the spectacular views of Oslo fjord and woodlands below.
Once we have taken in the sights from up high, we will return towards the city on the bus for the extraordinary Vigeland Sculpture Park visit. The imaginative sculptor Gustav Vigeland has left behind an impressive collection of creations of human figures in bronze, iron and stone. The life-size sculptures depicting the emotional circle of life of a man´s journey on earth are saying more than a thousand words ever could about eternity.
Our day comes to an end with a transfer back to the cruise harbor.
